MondeID guarantees privacy through a self-sovereign, issuer-signed verification model that avoids storing, transmitting, or exposing any personal or academic data. Privacy is achieved through four core principles: Issuer-signed credentials, not data transfer The institution signs the credential; MondeID never receives the underlying data. User-controlled disclosure The student decides when and with whom to share a credential. MondeID cannot initiate verification or access the content. Zero-storage infrastructure Credential details never pass through or sit on MondeID servers. We only validate non-identifiable cryptographic proofs. No third-party intermediaries Verification occurs between the student and employer, with MondeID acting only as the cryptographic validator — not a data broker or repository. This approach ensures that privacy is protected by design, not by policy.
